On 1st February 2026, a remarkable celebration of young talent took place as the National-Level Abacus Competition was successfully organized by Lokmat Times Campus Club and Genius Champs Academy, in association with MKH Sancheti School, Ghogli. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 300 students, both online and offline, making it one of the most vibrant academic competitions of the season.
The competition was hosted at the spacious campus of MKH Sancheti School, providing a comfortable and well-organized environment for students and parents alike. Prior to the event, participants were given access to practice facilities through the academy’s online portal, ensuring that every student had a fair chance to prepare and perform at their best. Students from different parts of the country took part, reflecting the growing popularity and reach of abacus learning.
A Modern, Tech-Driven Competition
The competition was conducted in a modern, fully computerized format, highlighting the perfect blend of traditional mental math techniques with today’s digital tools. The event was held under the guidance of Dr. Jayashree Ram Ghatbandhe and Chinmayi Ghatbandhe, Directors of Genius Champs Academy, along with their dedicated team, whose meticulous planning ensured smooth execution throughout the day.
The program was graced by esteemed chief guests including Meena Lende (Director, Star Point Convent), Satish Mohod (Director, Mohod Associates), and Amit Agarwal (Art of Living), whose presence and words of encouragement added great value and motivation for the students.
Outstanding Performances Across Categories
Students showcased their exceptional abilities across multiple categories such as Junior Levels, Level 1 to Level 6, Advance Level, and Table Writing. The winners demonstrated remarkable speed, accuracy, and confidence in mental calculations—proof of their hard work and consistent practice.
A special highlight of the event was the Student of the Year Award, which was awarded to Sanvi Khobragade (Wani) for her outstanding performance and dedication.
The dignitaries felicitated the winners and appreciated the efforts of all participants who displayed discipline, focus, and a true competitive spirit. The event also featured live demonstrations of abacus techniques by Dr. Jayashree Ghatbandhe, giving the audience a deeper insight into the power of mental math.

The competition was conducted by Niharika Nagpurkar, with valuable support from Suraj Vaidya, Rakshanda Mend, Jyoti Wankhede, and many others who contributed to the seamless execution of the event.
